2021 Bacigalupi Vineyard Pinot Noir
TASTING NOTES
An almost coy expression of this frequently more robust Pinot in our portfolio, thedelicate nose of the 2021 hints at kirsch, fresh pomegranates, and the slightesttouch of earth. The lightness of the palate offers rhubarb and hibiscus contrasted bya wonderful wet-slate minerality. The subtlety of flavor and body are finelybalanced with crisp acidity and pliable tannins, reminding us that a wine doesn’thave to be outspoken to be beautiful.
VINEYARD NOTES
In 1956, Helen and Charles Bacigalupi purchased 121 acres of prime vineyard landalong Westside Road in the heart of Russian River Valley and were among the firstin the area to plant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 1964. The Bacigalupi familygrapes garnered fame in 1976 when they were used to make Chateau Montelena’swinning entry in that year’s Paris Tasting. Our Pinot Noir grapes comefrom the Frost Ranch, purchased by the Bacigalupi family in 1993, and located justacross the road from their original vineyard.
