The road to endless views and unforgettable Pinot Noir begins here.
From vineyard to bottle, every vintage starts with the fruit and the people behind it.
Perched high above the Russian River Valley, our winery was built for slowing down, savoring the moment, and taking in the view.
The winding Russian River helps shape the cool-climate character found in every glass.
A lineup worth exploring, each bottle tells a different Russian River Valley story.

Our Story

Since 1982, Gary Farrell Winery has explored the vineyards, people, and places that make the Russian River Valley one of the world’s great regions for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. From the very beginning, we’ve followed our own compass, choosing a path guided by balance, authenticity, and a deep respect for the vineyards we partner with.

Today, that spirit continues through wines that are expressive, elegant, and unmistakably connected to place. Every bottle reflects not only where it was grown, but the experience of slowing down, savoring the moment, and discovering something new along the way.

Great Pinot Noir begins in the vineyard, with carefully grown fruit picked at just the right moment.
Every lot is tasted throughout the winemaking process, guiding each wine toward balance, elegance, and expression.
Harvest is where the energy begins. Fresh Chardonnay fruit arriving from the vineyard ready for its next chapter.

Winemaking

Led by winemaker Brent McKoy, our winemaking philosophy is centered on thoughtful, vineyard-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay crafted with balance, precision, and restraint. Partnering closely with some of the Russian River Valley’s most celebrated growers, our team embraces the subtle differences each site and vintage brings to the glass.

From cellar to bottle, the focus remains the same: let the vineyard speak, preserve freshness and elegance, and create wines that are both deeply expressive and endlessly enjoyable to drink.

Great wine should make you curious. Curious about where it came from, who you’re sharing it with, and how a single bottle can turn an ordinary moment into something memorable. The best wines invite you to slow down, savor the experience, and discover something new with every glass.

Team

Our team is made up of people from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives — from hospitality and winemaking to marketing, logistics, and vineyard partnerships. What brings us together is a shared passion for great wine, genuine hospitality, and creating memorable experiences for everyone who visits the winery. We believe the best ideas come from collaboration, curiosity, and not taking ourselves too seriously. By bringing our different strengths together, we create something far greater than any one person could accomplish alone and we have a lot of fun along the way.

Iconic vineyard sites like Rochioli Vineyard help define the depth, character, and sense of place found in our wines.
For more than 40 years, our story has been rooted in the vineyards and grower partnerships of the Russian River Valley.

Vineyards & Terroir

Great wine begins long before harvest. Our wines are shaped by the remarkable vineyard partnerships that have defined our story for more than four decades. Many of these relationships began with nothing more than a handshake and a shared belief in the potential of the Russian River Valley.

Today, these longstanding partnerships continue to connect us with some of the region’s most iconic vineyard sites, allowing us to craft Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that reflect the diversity, character, and beauty of this extraordinary place. From cool coastal influence to rolling hillsides and historic vineyard blocks, each site brings its own personality to the glass and every vintage gives us something new to discover.
