The perennial complexity of this iconic vineyard is on full display in the 2022 vintage. The eye-catching pale straw color draws you to the wine before succulent aromas of honeysuckles tenderly layered with ripe pears and sliced almonds entice you to delve in for more. The beautiful richness on the palate is deftly balanced by abundantly crisp acidity for a sensuously tactile experience. Still youthful, the 2022 showcases some stone fruit flavor up front while teasing the astounding depth this exceptionally age-worthy Chardonnay will reveal over time.

The Rochioli-Allen Chardonnay is always pleasing, and almost playful with its abundance of ripe, juicy pear, and apple fruit tied together with a pinch of baking spice and fresh lemons. The fleshy, mouth-coating texture creates happy satisfaction sip after sip, while generous acidity adds vibrancy and life to the palate and into the sating finish.

A platter of sliced golden apples and white peaches with a smattering of lime zest shines brightly on the nose of this chardonnay from the renowned Ritchie Vineyard. The silky texture of the palate carries hints of nectarine, white flowers, and citrus pith, while the mineral-laden acidity accentuates these nuances into the crisp finish.

The long growing season of this vineyard often provides a Pinot Noir with some muscle, but the 2021 is a graceful wine showing less power and more finesse. The nose is a piquant blend of black cherries, orange peel, and a lift of mountain sage. The almost full-bodied palate and lush texture are beautifully framed by firm tannins and ample acidity, showcasing more of the striking fresh orange and dark cherry flavors layered over Earl Grey tea. A satisfying sip that leaves a lasting impression.

Bright, sensuous aromas of ripe red cherry and plums with a racy, almost seductive, seam of warm baking spices invite further exploration. This beautifully aged Rochioli-Allen Vineyards Pinot Noir has gracefully evolved, revealing the complexity and depth that only time can bring. The once fresh, savory aromas have softened into an elegant bouquet of dried hibiscus, stewed rhubarb, cherry compote, fennel seed, and hints of aged Darjeeling tea. On the palate, the bright acidity has mellowed, allowing the wine's rich, layered character to shine—think blood orange peel, raspberry preserves, red currant, and a thread of earthy dried herbs. The finish is long and refined, with silken tannins and a lingering, harmonious balance that showcases the pedigree of both the vineyard and the vintage.
