Which Gary Farrell Membership Is Right for You?

When we talk about the Gary Farrell wine club, we are really talking about two distinct paths: our traditional Wine Club tiers and our newer Sonoma Selection subscription. Each one is designed for a different kind of wine lover, at a different moment in their journey.

The Wine Club is built for enthusiasts who want consistent access to our single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, complete with cellar-worthy selections and meaningful member perks. The Sonoma Selection is our most approachable option: a low-commitment subscription that delivers four bottles of exceptional Gary Farrell wines on a schedule that works for your life, with no long-term obligation.

Here is what each option includes, who it is best suited for, and how to decide.

Two Ways to Explore Our Wines

Our memberships page organizes our options into two categories:

  • Sonoma Selection (Subscription). Four bottles delivered on your timeline, starting at $150 per shipment. No sign-up fee, no minimum commitment.
  •  Wine Clubs (Enthusiast, Connoisseur, Collector). Three tiered-memberships with single-vineyard access, customizable releases, complimentary tastings, and deeper savings on purchases.

Both tracks include access to Gary Farrell wines delivered to your doorstep, and both allow you to add bottles beyond your standard allocation. The key differences come down to commitment level, wine selection depth, and the value of in-person perks.

Start Here: The Sonoma Selection Subscription

If you are new to Gary Farrell, prefer flexibility, or want a straightforward way to keep quality wine on hand, the Sonoma Selection is the right place to start.

For $150 per shipment, you receive four handpicked bottles of our finest appellation wines. These are the wines we built our reputation on: Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay crafted for everyday enjoyment and effortless sharing.

What the Sonoma Selection Includes

  •  $150 per shipment, four bottles.
  • Flexible delivery frequency: every 2, 4, or 6 months.
  • Option to enhance your shipment with exclusive single-vineyard wines.
  • 10% discount on any additional wines added to your order.
  •  No sign-up fee and no minimum commitment.
  • Skip or cancel any shipment at any time.

Who the Sonoma Selection Is For

This subscription suits three kinds of wine lovers best:

  • The casual host. You want great bottles on hand for dinner parties, gifts, and weekend gatherings without tracking a complex release calendar.
  • The gift buyer. A Sonoma Selection subscription makes a considered, personal gift for a wine lover who does not already have a winery club membership.
  • The curious first-timer. You recently visited us on Westside Road, loved what you tasted, and want to continue the experience at home without committing to a full club tier.

The Sonoma Selection does not include complimentary winery tastings, which is the primary trade-off compared to our Wine Club tiers. If in-person visits and cellar-depth access matter to you, read on.

Our Wine Club Tiers: Enthusiast, Connoisseur, and Collector

Our Wine Club operates on a three-release-per-year schedule (Winter, Spring, and Fall). Each tier offers access to our single-vineyard wines, the ability to customize your selection before each release, and complimentary tastings at the winery.

One full release cycle is the minimum commitment across all three tiers. After that, you can adjust, hold, or cancel at any time.

  • Average shipment cost: $275–$325 per release
  • 10% savings on all wine purchases
  • Complimentary tastings for up to 2 guests with advance reservation
  • Customize your selection before each release

Three Common Scenarios: Find Your Fit

Scenario 1: “I want great wine without the calendar management.”

The Sonoma Selection was built for this. Choose your delivery frequency, receive four curated bottles, and add single-vineyard wines if you want to go deeper in a given shipment. There is no release schedule to track, no minimum commitment, and no cancellation fee.

Scenario 2: “We visit the winery a few times a year and want it to feel special.”

The Enthusiast or Connoisseur Club is the right match. Both tiers include complimentary tastings and the ability to bring guests, turning each visit into a member experience rather than a standard reservation. If you visit with a group of four, the Connoisseur level makes the most sense on a per-visit basis.

Scenario 3: “I collect Pinot Noir seriously and want the best access possible.”

The Collector Club provides first access to library and small-lot selections that are not widely available, along with our deepest discount and the lowest flat-rate shipping of any tier. For wine lovers building a cellar around Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this is the most direct path.
