is a world renowned wine growing region. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and numerous
other grape varietals share the hills and valleys with farms and ranches
growing and raising an abundance of fantastic food. Local wineries and
restaurants rely on local producers and seasonal ingredients to create
crave-able wines and dishes that represent the best the region has to offer. As
Sonoma showcases some of the best wine and food in the
world, there is no doubt that the coffee here would be presented in a similar
fashion. The same passionate dedication
quality is observed when getting the daily dose of caffeine, and in Healdsburg
there are plenty of places to grab a sophisticated cup of coffee. Here are
places where locals and visitors go to energize before, after and in between
wine tasting experiences.
Flying Goat Coffee
Coffee is highly regarded
in the coffee world. The beverages they serve in the Healdsburg area have
become an essential part of any visit to the area. The coffee is well known locally as well, and many of their restaurant
neighbors have brought in Flying Goat to exclusively serve to their diners.
Flying Goat is independent and locally owned, they roast daily and only use
exception and direct sourced coffees. They work closely with farmers to ensure
the highest ethical and sustainable growing efforts as well as supporting the
people in coffee growing areas. Flying Goat recently distributed over 100 pairs
of children’s shoes in Honduras, where they source a delicious high elevation
Honduran coffee. The Ana Reyes Farm is situated more
that 5000 feet of elevation that is lightly caramelly with a hint of apple and
a clean finish. This coffee shop is a great place to stop for a sip anytime you
are in the Healdsburg Square.
Healdsburg Shed and Coffee Bar
Healdsburg’s most celebrated foodie stops is Healdsburg SHED. It has helped the
area join the ranks on the world’s culinary stage by embracing the beauty and
dignity of farming. Keeping a commitment to the pleasure of serving the true
tastes of real food, SHED maintains intimate working relationships with Sonoma’s farmers, artists, chefs and crafters of all
sorts. This has led to a symbiotic collaboration with their neighbors at Flying
Goat Coffee. The coffee bar at SHED offers traditional espresso preparations
and pour over coffee. If you have time to really sit and enjoy, they also offer
a unique immersion process that is full bodied and rich with a clean finish.
The rustic and charming space is a great place to indulge in a warm cup of wake
up and enjoy some of Healdsburg’s delicious coffee.
