HISTORY
The Legacy of Bacigalupi Vineyard
The Bacigalupi family has been cultivating grapes since 1956 when Charles and Helen Bacigalupi purchased a 121-acre vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Over the years, their three unique single vineyard sites - Goddard Ranch, Frost Ranch, and the Bacigalupi Home Ranch - have produced some of the most sought-after grapes in the region.
The Judgement of Paris
In 1976, the Bacigalupi family's grapes made history in the wine world when they were used to produce the Chardonnay that won the Judgement of Paris, a blind-tasting competition that put California wines on the map. This historic moment solidified the Bacigalupi family's legacy in the wine industry and paved the way for future success.
The Vintner Behind Bacigalupi Vineyards
John Bacigalupi, son of Charles and Helen Bacigalupi, is the vintner behind Bacigalupi Vineyards. His expertise and passion for winemaking has helped to produce some of the finest wines in the region and his commitment to quality is evident in every bottle.
A Partnership Rooted in Shared Values
Gary Farrell, a young winemaker, was drawn to the area's unique climate and the potential of the land. He had a vision of crafting wines that would showcase the unique terroir of the Russian River Valley. In 1982, he established his namesake winery; the rest is history.

Gary Farrell Winery and the Bacigalupi family share a deep commitment to excellence and a passion for crafting wines that are a true expression of the land. When the opportunity arose to work with the Bacigalupi family's iconic vineyards, Gary Farrell jumped at the chance.

Today, the partnership between Gary Farrell Winery and Bacigalupi Vineyards continues to produce some of the most exceptional wines in the region.
