2012 Russian River Selection Rosé of Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
VINEYARD: The Wat Vineyard is in a cool site located off Bodega Highway in Sebastopol, in one of the coolest parts of the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River AVA. It is situated ~18.5 miles southwest of the winery and 12 miles east of the Pacific Coast. The coastal fogline provides a cooling effect after moderately warm, sunny days.
TASTING NOTES: Our Rosé was whole-cluster pressed in the same way one would make a white wine, creating a crisp, refreshing wine that is perfect for summer. This pale salmon-colored, bone-dry Rosé flaunts aromas of juicy strawberry, fresh raspberry, sweet Satsuma and orange blossom, with underlying layers of dried herbs, spices and flower petals. The first sip is mouthwatering with vibrant acidity, and then flavors of white nectarine, pomegranate and sour cherry emerge on the palate, followed by a long, slate-like finish.

Fantastic! Tart and bright with great strawberry and raspberry fruit. The acidity was in perfect balance and had a finish that seemed to last for minutes. More please. Outstanding. 91-93 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com

Editors' Choice.“Although pricey for a rosé, this shows wonderful complexity. The grapes come from two well-regarded vineyards, and the wine shows an elegant structure, with crisp acids and a dusting of tannins. It tastes of rose petals, herb tea, raspberries and nectarines.” –S.H. September, 2013
Dan Berger's Vintage Experiences
Exceptional.“Very pale in color. Berry/citrus notes and a faint, complex earthy aroma leads to a bone-dry and quite minerally finish. Simply superb.” – May 2, 2013
Popsugar
Refreshing Rosés Under $30.“We couldn't stop filling our glasses with Gary Farrell's pale-salmon Rosé. Crisp and bone-dry, it's everything you'd want in a Rosé. This is no floral or fruity wine; rather, it possesses the minerality of a Pinot Noir without the body.” – June 7, 2013

Amazing hilltop view of the Russian River Valley from the inside tasting room, or the outdoor patio. Most importantly, the wine was really good. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area. Yelp | August 21, 2014 | 5/5 Stars “Gary Farrell is always on my short list of wineries to visit in the Russian River Valley”Gary Farrell is always on my short list of wineries to visit in the Russian River Valley. Whether it's with my in-laws from Oregon or my friends from New York City, everyone is always impressed by the elegant setting and even more elegant wines. And now that the first vintages from new wine maker, Theresa Heredia, are ready to taste I will definitely be by for a visit again soon! Trip Advisor | August 19, 2014 | 5/5 Stars “Join the Wine Club - it's worth it”We have been wine club members for several years now. Our first visit here was on my 40th birthday from a recommendation from a wine steward at a local Oregon grocery store. Now we have been back several times. Our last trip was to the Harvest Dinner earlier this month. We enjoyed the wine, food and meeting the staff. Everyone was so very nice and accommodating. We will be back again and again. Thanks Kila, Stephanie, Andy, Nancy and Theresa. Trip Advisor | July 29, 2013 | 4/5 Stars “Great views and wine!”Great views, great wine and knowledgable and helpful staff. You can't beat sitting on the terrace with a good glass of wine. Yelp | July 8, 2014 | 5/5 Stars “Great views, nice people, great wine--who wouldn't be in!”Really enjoyed my recent "revisit" (for the third time) to Gary Farrell...Enjoyed our hostess Diana, who was quite fun and told us quite a bit about the wines we were trying...My buddy and I even purchased a couple of cookbook "holders"--for lack of a better word--which were made from wine barrels.. We were even convinced, after hearing about the scrumptious pork menu, to make a reservation for a future wine dinner on site...Great views, nice people, great wine--who wouldn't be "in!" Yelp | May 9, 2014 | 5/5 Stars “Wow Gary Farrell is wonderful”Wow Gary Farrell is wonderful. Their Pinots are delicious, the Zin was one if my favorites the last time we visited. My fiancé thought enough of the whole experience+the wine to join their wine club! The drive there is lovely and the views from the winery are stunning.
