WINEMAKING
2003 was a year that tested the skills of both the winemakers and growers. Challenging winegrowing weather resulted in lighter than normal yields. Unseasonable rain storms with cold and heat in the Spring affected flowering. This was followed by above normal summer heat in July, scattered rain in early September, and followed by another heat spell. This created a frenzied beginning to harvest, with the light harvest producing small berries with intense flavor.
