These grapes were hand harvested during the early morning hours on September 17th, with an average sugar content of 24.4 degrees brix, .76 gm/100 ml total titratable acidity and 3.43 pH.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES
The 2002 growing season was one of the finest in the Russian River Valley in recent history, with the cool nights and moderate daytime temperatures providing ideal conditions for tremendous flavor development and the acid retention in the fruit expected of great vintages. Our 2002 Pinot Noirs are among our finest we have produced, and this wine (along with our Starr Ridge offering) will certainly be among our most prominent releases of the year. Early reviews already include three scores of 91 in the Wine Spectator, California Grapevine and Wine & Spirits magazine.
